# Create your workspace
> Sign up for Menaia on your own, answer a few quick questions from Meni, review the workspace Meni builds from your business, and know what to set up next.
If your company is new to Menaia, you can create a workspace yourself in a few minutes, with no credit card. You sign up with your email or Google, tell Menaia a little about your company, and then Meni builds a starting workspace for you: a price book, lead sources, tags, starter automations, and a dashboard. You review it before anything is created.
If you don't see **Start free** on the sign-in page, creating a workspace yourself isn't available right now. If your company already uses Menaia, don't create a new workspace. Ask an Admin to add you, then [sign in](/guides/start/sign-in).
## 1. Sign up
On the sign-in page, press **Start free** (next to "New to Menaia?"). The page is titled **Create your workspace**.
Press **Continue with Google**, or enter your **Work email** and press **Email me a code**. By continuing, you agree to Menaia's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
If you used email, type the 6-digit code from the email and press **Continue**. **Resend code** sends a new one, and **Use a different email** takes you back.
Already have an account? Press **Log in** at the top of the page instead.
## 2. Tell Menaia about your company
The **Set up your workspace** form asks four things. It says "Tell us about your company. This takes about 30 seconds."

| **Your name** | Your full name. Filled in from Google if you used it. |
| **Trade** | The kind of work you do. This sets the starting point Meni builds from. Choose from HVAC, Electrical, Attic & Crawl Space, Landscape, Insulation, Plumbing, Garage Doors, Cleaning Services, Roofing, Locksmith, Solar, Flooring, Painting, Windows, Duct Cleaning, Carpet Cleaning, Moving, General Contractor / Remodeling, or Other. |
| **Time zone** | Los Angeles (Pacific), Denver (Mountain), Chicago (Central), or New York (Eastern). Menaia picks your browser's time zone when it matches one of these. |
Press **Create workspace**. Menaia creates your workspace with one branch, named after your company with "Main" at the end, and makes you its Admin. Then it opens setup with Meni.
Signing up with an email that's already part of a Menaia workspace shows **You already have a workspace**: "This email belongs to an existing Menaia workspace, so there is nothing to set up here." Press **Log in to your workspace**. If you come back to this form after your workspace was created, you'll see **Your workspace is ready** with a **Continue to your workspace** button.
## 3. Answer Meni's questions
Setup opens full screen with a progress bar and **WORKSPACE SETUP** at the top. Meni asks one question at a time. On the side, **Meni's notes** fills in with what Meni learns about your business as you go.
Meni shows Google listings that match your company name, with their rating and address. Pick yours and press **That's us**. If it isn't listed, type your web address under **Not listed? Point me at your website** and press **Read my site**. With no matches, the box reads **Share your website and I'll read it**. Menaia then shows **Getting to know your business** while it reads your Google listing, finds your locations, reads your website, and pulls out your services and prices.
If Menaia found your address, it shows it here. Under **How far do you travel?**, pick **10 mi**, **25 mi**, or **50 mi**.
Choose how many people are on the tools: **Just me**, **2–5**, **6–15**, or **16+**. Add **Plus office help** or **We sub out some jobs** if they apply.
Meni tells you how many services it found, or that it will build a full service list for your trade. You pick which ones to keep later, on the review screen. In the **Your hourly rate** box, type your average hourly rate. It starts at $125 an hour; type any amount up to $10,000, or clear the box to leave it blank. Under **Where should these services live?**, choose **Price book** to use them in full Calculator estimates, or **Fast estimates from scratch** for quick one-off proposals.
Upload your company logo so estimates and your workspace carry your brand.
Select where most of your leads come from: **Referrals**, **Google**, **Facebook**, **Local Services Ads**, **Yelp**, **Door hangers**, or **Repeat customers**. Then press **Start building**.
Every question after the first has **Skip for now**. Each one also has a box that says **Or just tell Meni in your own words…**. Type your answer to the current question, such as "we go about 40 miles out from Austin." Meni fills in that answer for you and replies with what it understood.
Your answers are saved each time you press **Continue**. If you leave and come back to Menaia, setup picks up where you left off.
## 4. Watch Meni build
After you press **Start building**, you'll see **Building your workspace**, with a live list of what Meni is doing and a counter of finished steps:
* Choosing your services and prices
* Drafting playbooks
* Writing your plan
* Illustrating a few services with sample photos
You can't skip setup while this is running.
## 5. Review what Meni built
When it's done, you'll see **Here's the workspace I built you**. The heading tells you how many services Meni drafted and how many categories they're in.
### Pick your services and prices
Services are grouped by category. No service is selected at first. Only the ones you check get built.
* Check the box next to each service you offer, or use **Select all** on a category. **Clear all** unchecks the whole category.
* Type your price in each service's price box. Meni's prices are a starting point, and you know your market best.
* A line under a service, such as "adjusted by After-hours", names the factors that can change its price.
### Check the rest of the plan
* **Pricing & factors** — your **Hourly rate** (you can change it here), plus the **Factors** (multipliers for tougher situations like after-hours or emergencies) and **Additional costs** (flat fees like trip charges or disposal) Meni drafted.
* **Pipeline & tags** — the **Lead sources** and **Tags** you'll start with.
* **Playbooks** — the starter automations Meni will set up, each with a one-line description of what it does.
* **Meni's plan** — a short summary of what was built and your first steps.
### Ask Meni to change things
Use the box that says **Tell Meni to change anything** to ask for changes in plain words, for example "make tune-ups \$99." Meni updates the draft and replies.
Each time Meni replies in this box, the review screen reloads. Any boxes you checked and prices you typed are cleared. Ask Meni for changes first, then pick your services and enter your prices.
### Build it
Press **Build my workspace**. The button shows how many services you picked. Until you pick at least one, it reads **Pick your services to build**. You'll see **Setting up your workspace** while Menaia creates everything. Then your **Dashboard** opens.
## Skip setup or use the standard setup
**Skip setup** at the top right is available at any point except while Meni is building. It skips the rest of the questions and gives you the standard setup:
* A starter price book for your trade, with no prices filled in, if Meni hasn't drafted one yet
* Starter lead sources, tags, and playbooks
* Your first dashboard
* Standard notification rules, payment terms, and invoice credit and void reasons
If you press **Skip setup** on the review screen, Menaia builds every service Meni drafted. It ignores which boxes you checked and any prices you typed there.
## If setup doesn't finish
If something goes wrong while Meni is building, you'll see **That didn't finish**: "Something went wrong while I was building. Your progress is saved — we can try again or start you on the standard setup."
* **Try again** runs the build again with the answers you already gave.
* **Use the standard setup** skips to the standard setup described above.
## Sign-up messages

## What gets created
When you build your workspace, Menaia sets up:
* **Your business profile** — your website, address, and phone from your Google listing or site. If Meni found more physical locations, each one becomes its own branch.
* **Your rates** — your hourly rate and service area in your branch settings.
* **Your price book** — the services you picked, with their categories, work areas, factors, and additional costs. If you chose **Fast estimates from scratch**, the services are set up for from-scratch estimates instead.
* **Lead sources and tags** from the review screen.
* **Standard defaults** — notification rules, payment terms (Due on Receipt, Net 15, Net 30, Net 45, Net 60), invoice credit and void reasons, and an invoice footer with your company name.
* **Meni** — turned on for your workspace, with your first **Dashboard** charts pinned and your playbooks created and turned on.
When it's ready, Menaia sends you an email with a link to your dashboard.
## What to do next
After setup, a small progress circle in the bottom-right corner of your screen opens the **Set up your workspace** guide. It shows how many steps you've finished and links you to each next step:
* **Build your price book**
* **Set up your phone line** (not on every plan)
* **Add your first lead**
* **Send your first estimate**
* **Book your first job**
* **Invite a teammate**
The guide also holds **Meni's plan for your business**. To hide it, press **Don't show this again**. When every step is done, press **Dismiss guide**.
See everything you can set up for your workspace.
Add prices and fine-tune the services Meni created.
Invite your team and give them roles.
Review the playbooks Meni turned on for you.
